Toilet Paper Art

A toilet paper roll...

...not something I would've thought people would use to express themselves artistically, but that's exactly what some artist are doing. I'll be showing you some simple concepts that you can do at home, along with some really crazy stuff that will take lots of practice and a little patience.

The household toilet paper roll, ominous, yet holds lots of potential.

The most simplistic way to use a toilet roll is to cut thin slices of the roll, creating a ring. Glue these pieces together in an interesting design and paint them any color you want. Very simple, very easy and very cool! Check out how this technique was used in the following pictures.

This picture shows how to create a simple wreath. Perhaps going one step further and painting the toilet paper cardboard green would have been a great way to finish this piece.

Here's one that was painted red.

It's so easy a child could do it!

French artist Anastassia Elias has taken the art of toilet paper rolls to a new level.

She delicately cuts out the images on paper and glues them into the paper tub with tweezers. The process is time consuming and tedious but the results are pretty amazing.

If you like the art, they're available in a variety of ways. Check out the Anastassia's website for more information about purchasing these one-of-a-kind pieces of art
